This bank must be in trouble. I deposited a refund check for less than a dollar to my savings account. I told the teller to stamp the check for deposit only. She did not. The check was returned for lack of endorsement and Franklin (now American National) bank has charged my savings account $10 for the returned check. I explained their mistake but rather than returning my, $10 they decided to claim the check was over 6 months old and therefore out of date. I asked why the teller did not refuse to deposit the check if it was out of date and if that was their policy and was given no answer. The bank manager assumed no responsibility for the mistake and would not refund my $10.
They had a good staff at one time but no more. I would no longer trust this bank with my money and I don't know why anyone would. They pay practically no interest and they cannot admit their own mistakes. Carefull when dealing with this bank at this location! I wish I could give negative stars. I have closed my savings account before they can take more of my hard earned savings from me.
